Components of a Perimeter Access Control System
Proper identification, authentication, authorization and accountability are the important components of any access control process that relies on its components to enforce security. We start by identifying users and then we verify their identity by authenticating them, making sure they are who they claim to be. If we are successful in these steps, entry is authorized and access is allowed. An electronic system monitors and records all personnel traffic and stores the data in a retrievable database. Biometrics have been around for a while now, but the advances in this technology are now making it more widely acceptable as the flaws and bugs are being eliminated.
